Cancelations and Refunds
Policy Descriptions
We understand that sometimes, unforeseeable circumstances make it necessary to cancel a registration. LEI cancelation policies attempt to balance our recognition of the client’s good faith with the financial difficulty for LEI caused by cancelation. We therefore offer some options as described below, which are also included in the Registration materials.
-
Registration for an LEI program indicates the client/student’s awareness of these policies and an agreement to abide by them.
-
In this policy statement, the term client refers to the party who is liable for payment of LEI fees; the term student refers to the person who actually studies with LEI. One person can be both client and student.
California Program — Cancelation Policy
-
In the California program, the client may transfer registration to another student with no penalty, no refund, and no change to course content. In this situation, the original client will send LEI the new student’s contact information and the new student will complete a new registration.
-
The client may ask to reschedule the same Plan within six months of the originally scheduled start date. This option is available only if LEI accepts the new time requested, and if not, then a cancelation fee will be imposed. Scroll down to see Cancelation Fees Chart.
-
If the client cancels a registration without transferring or rescheduling, the client will be charged a cancelation fee. Scroll down to see Cancelation Fees Chart.
-
If the cancelation occurs at a late date and appears to LEI to be the result of foreseeable or avoidable circumstances or to be otherwise unreasonable, then LEI retains the right, in its sole discretion, to charge for the full amount of the scheduled Plan.
LEI in Your City — Cancelation Policy
-
If it is necessary for a client to cancel a class scheduled in the client’s city, the client may have the option of rescheduling the same Plan within six months of the start date. This option is available only if LEI accepts the new time requested, and if not, then a cancelation fee will be imposed. Scroll down to see Cancelation Fees chart.
-
If a client cancels a registration without rescheduling, or if LEI does not accept rescheduling, then a cancelation fee will be imposed. Scroll down to see Cancelation Fees chart.
-
If cancelation or rescheduling occurs, in addition to the LEI Cancelation Fee, the client will be responsible for payment in full, by direct payment or by prompt reimbursement to LEI, of all out-of-pocket expenses reasonably incurred by LEI to the date of cancelation including but not limited to fees, charges, or penalties for cancelation or rescheduling of:
- transportation and housing for instructors
- classroom space and equipment rental
- preparation of materials
- any other purchases or arrangements
CANCELATION FEES
Note: the administrative fee and the cancelation fee will be deducted from the amount the client has previously paid to LEI and the balance will be returned to the client.
